Season 13 |
|
The Simpsons Season 13 first aired on November 6, 2001 with its first episode, "Treehouse of Horror XII" and ended on May 22, 2002 with its final episode "Poppa's Got a Brand New Badge."
The Simpsons Complete Season Thirteen boxset was released:
- Region 1- August 24, 2010
- Region 2- September 20, 2010
- Region 4- December 1, 2010
This season includes a documentary titled The Sweet Life of Ralph Wiggum. Some Season 13 DVD box sets featured a limited edition Collector's box with a 3D Ralph Wiggum face on the front.
This is the first season since Season 4 where Al Jean is the showrunner.
In production order, this is the last season done in traditional cels. However, "Treehouse of Horror XIII" is done with the digital ink and paint software, but that one (like "Radioactive Man" from Season 7; originally from Season 6 and "Tennis the Menace" from Season 12) was likely a test.

Trivia[]
- This season reused only three couch gags from season 12.
- This is the first season to be affected by a notorious event, in this case, the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The second and fifth ones would be the WGA strikes of 2007-08 and 2023 respectively as well as the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike which the 19th season had 20 episodes and the 35th season will probably have 18 episodes or so and the third and fourth ones would be the COVID-19 pandemic despite them having 22 episodes.
