I think that Seth McFarlane would never come up with the idea of American Dad, since the reason why he did in the first place is because George W. Bush won. At least from what I heard.
You would think Al Gore winning would lead to The Simpsons greatest rivial (AKA Family Guy) not existing but even if Al Gore one, the only thing that would have changed is American Dad not existing, Family Guy likely would have gotten more seasons upon it's cancellation.
