Underdunk Robert Terwilliger , known as Sideshow Bob (in English Sideshow Bob ), is a character from The Simpsons , characterized by combing the hair reminiscent of palm trees.
The name "Terwilliger" is derived from that of Dr. Terwilliker from the movie The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T .
History
It is the former shoulder (as the name suggests) of Krusty the Clown and ended up in prison for attempting to frame the same, being replaced by Sideshow Mel . He lives in the prison of Springfield , which has escaped many times, also due dell'imperizia local police.
It shows an incredibly cultured, lover of the theater and the opera with great taste and an esthete.
During these outings, he married Selma , sister Marge , who then tried to kill; He has tried to disappear from the face of Springfield all TVs, threatening to detonate a nuclear bomb. He considers, among other things, ridiculous charges of "attempted murder" which always ends up in prison, because, he says, do not give some Nobel prizes for "attempted chemistry."

In the episode " Cape Fear "he takes aim Bart writing him with the blood from the cell several threatening letters and then is released, forcing Simpson to be put under protection by the CIA, and contain two of the most memorable moments that concern. The first episode is the time of the review process in which the jury must make the decision on his release, when asked about the meaning of his tattoo "Bart die die". The second episode occurs when Simpson - whose name has been changed into "Thompson" - arrive at their new houseboat at the Cape Fear and Bob, left battered from his hiding under their car (on the way Homer has invested several blunt objects including several cactus ...) in a long scene (which has the sole purpose of occupying time ...), treads continuously the forks of innumerable rakes arranged on the quay, so that every time the stick rake the slam in the face (and every time he whispers, "I hate you ..." and is in fact his only enemy that defeated). Even when the scene moves into the boat and Simpson speak, you hear other 2 or 3 times the noise of rake taken in the face, followed by the usual murmur and some clever blasphemy. In his most recent appearance ( The Italian Bob , seventeenth season ) Bob, tired of repeated failures in trying to kill Bart, decides to take a rest going to live in Italy. It reaches a small Tuscan town called Sausage, where he managed to befriend the inhabitants that eventually elected him mayor. Sideshow Bob wants to leave behind his life of crime and in the episode it is discovered even married to an Italian woman, Francesca, and with a son, Gino, of course, is almost identical to his father for that character to the hair. His new life is ruined when they come into town the Simpsons: despite the good reception that reserves and their desire to forget past grievances, Lisa gets drunk with wine and local villagers involuntarily blurts out the criminal past of Bob, who is forced to leave the city swore eternal vengeance on the Simpsons.
