- The couch cag parodies Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back whith Homer as the Wampa and Bart as Luke Skywalker.
- The manager mentions that Disney has laid ground a new "Family Guy World" theme park, leading to a cutaway gag showing the park's constructuion with a snippet of the Family Guy theme song playing. This gag also references Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox (which includes The Simpsons and Family Guy).
- The "Hall of Vice Presidents" attraction is a parody of the Hall of Presidents at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.
- Homer remarks that the soundtrack to the musical Hamilton claims that Aaron Burr is a jerk.
- The scene where the Simpsons place animatronic Vice President heads in the manager's bed spoofs the iconic "horse head" scene from the 1972 film The Godfather.
- At al the end, Comic Book Guy has a banner in his shop reading "Have a Marvel Christmas and a Happy DC New Year".

- Second time this series has parodied the "horse head in the bed" scene from The Godfather (1972). Previously it was used in The Simpsons: Lisa's Pony (1991). This is also the second time the series has double-dipped a Godfather reference. It has twice parodied the death of Sonny Corleone, once with Bart being bombarded with snowballs, and once with James Caan himself.
- The music that was playing while in store was similar to that found in the film Platoon (1986). In fact, Marge dropped to her knees when she fails to acquire the desired item, resembling that of the Willem Dafoe character in said movie.
- Chalkboard gag: "The fat man who works one night a year is my dad"
- The characters found in the park: Hug-A-Bull, Mulberry Mutt, Tremendous Boar, and Thelonious Skunk. Mulberry Mutt refers to Huckleberry Hound, while Thelonious Skunk refers to the musician Thelonious Monk.
- Couch gag: A recreation of Luke's battle with the Wampa on Hoth
- The names of Vice-Presidents: Aaron Burr, Spiro Agnew (Resigned), Andrew Johnson, Gerald Ford, Schuyler Colfax, Chester Arthur. If given a closer look, Lyndon Johnson,Theodore Roosevelt, and Richard Nixon are depicted as well, who eventually became President. Burr, Andrew Johnson, Ford and Arthur fall in the same category.
- Kissimmee St Nick is a reference to the Kissimmee St Cloud resort area and St. Nick is an allusion to Santa Claus it is also a reference to the town of Kissimmee Florida.

- Lisa complains that the family had driven 2000 miles in 4 hours. This assumes a rate of speed at 500 mph, impossible in either of the Simpsons' cars.
