2x2 (Russian: Дважды два, Dvazhdy dva — "Two-by-two") is Russia's oldest private entertainment TV channel, founded in 1989. It was temporarily closed in 1997, but was rebooted in 2002. Since 2007, it specializes in adult-oriented animated series, and sometimes live-action shows since 2009. Starting from the mid 2000s, after a fellow Russian TV channel, REN TV, lost the rights to broadcast The Simpsons, 2x2 became the exclusive Russian broadcaster for The Simpsons. The show is broadcasted everyday on 2x2 with a Russian voiceover translation.
