The 'A Hole in the Ground Gang' is based on the real life gang called the 'A Hole in the Wall Gang', that included Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. The gang was featured in the second segment of Treehouse of Horror XIII: The Fright to Creep and Scare Harms.
