A Taste of Springfield is a food festival in Springfield, that offers "fine dining in a bee-filled atmosphere". Many of Springfield's restaurants set up their own booths at the outdoor festival.
A Taste of Springfield was the site of a failed assassination attempt on Homer Simpson, then-Springfield Shopper food critic. A chef from The French Confection attempted to poison Homer with an eclair. The result of the failed attempt had Hans Moleman's gruel stand being blown up due to Homer tossing the poisoned eclair to the side after Lisa convinced him it was low-fat, which ultimately resulted in Homer being beaten up by the angry participants for this and presumably other actions he had done recently.
Lisa also reviewed the festival for the Springfield Elementary School student newspaper.
