Action Figure Man is a cartoon that was seen at the Annual Cartoon Awards.
History[]
One of its episodes, How to Buy Action Figure Man, was nominated for "Best Writing in a Cartoon Series" in The Front, competing against the wedding episode of Strongdar, Master of AKOM, the season premiere of the Nickelodeon cartoon, Ren and Stimpy (which is only shown as a slide reading "CLIP NOT DONE YET" due to that show's notoriously long production delays under John Kricfalusi), and the Itchy & Scratchy cartoon "Little Barbershop of Horrors," which wins.
Behind the Laughter[]
- The animation and character design coincidentally looks like what King of the Hill (the Mike Judge cartoon that aired on FOX and is coming back as a Hulu-exclusive series, not the season nine episode where Homer works out at the gym and is chosen to climb The Murderhorn) from seasons one to three would look like.
- The "How to Buy Action Figure Man" episode is a spoof on how 1980s cartoons were seen as little more than extended commercials for children's toys, candy, and cereal.
