Admiral John Mundane Mann is Otto's father and an admiral in the United States navy, and the two do not get along. He warned Otto that if he spent his life playing his guitar, his life would amount to nothing. He appeared at Otto's wedding, where he stated that he and Mrs. Mann disapproved of the marriage and all of Otto's life decisions, and that they were leaving before the ceremony began.
He is largely based off of George Steven Morrison, who was the father of The Doors lead singer Jim Morrison. Much like Admiral Mann, George served as an Admiral, serving in the Vietnam War and highly disproved of his son's profession.
