Albert Lawrence Brooks (born Albert Lawrence Einstein; July 22, 1947) is an actor, comedian, writer and director. He has been a frequent guest voice on The Simpsons (1990-2023) since the first season, and he has always been billed as "A. Brooks" on the credits. Brooks was credited in the "also starring" section until "You Only Move Twice" in season 8, where he was accorded "Special Guest Voice" status for his portrayal of Hank Scorpio. His most recent Simpsons role was the Slick manager in "Yokel Hero". He played Jacques in "Life on the Fast Lane" and Tab Spangler in "The Heartbroke Kid".

Brooks' other accomplishments include a resident film maker for the first season of Saturday Night Live (1975-1976), movie acting roles including Tom in Taxi Driver (1976), Yale Goodman in Private Benjamin (1980), Norman Robbins in Unfaithfully Yours (1984), Aaron Altman in Broadcast News (1987) (for which he received an Academy Award nomination) and Bernie Rose in Drive (2011), as well as starring, directing, and writing several films, including Real Life (1979), Lost in America (1985), Defending Your Life (1991), Mother (1996), The Muse (1999), and Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World (2005). Outside of The Simpsons, his voice credits include Jacob the Tiger in Dr. Dolittle (1998) , Tiberius in The Secret Life of Pets (2016), and Marlin in Finding Nemo (2003) and Finding Dory (2016).
