Alf Clausen (born March 28, 1941) is an American composer and musician. He has scored every episode of The Simpsons except for the 13 episodes of Season 1 and 4 early Season 2 episodes. Clausen has been the sole composer on the show since 1990, with his first episode being "Treehouse of Horror". He was later fired on August 30, 2017[1] after "Dogtown" (technically his last episode was "Whistler's Father") and was replaced by Bleeding Fingers Music, consisting of Hans Zimmer and Russell Emanuel.

Despite being fired, Alf Clausen still works for the show, now as a composer emeritus.

Clausen has scored or orchestrated music for more than 30 films and television shows, including Moonlighting, The Naked Gun, ALF, and Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
