Marge was trying to reconcile with Lisa because she admitted that, unlike her daughter, she's not a jazz fan. She took Lisa to Capital City (Springfield State) where they watched Bad News Bears: The Musical, a Broadway-like show starring Andrew Rannells. However, the musical was so boring that Lisa had to pretend she liked it, just like her mother did when she played jazz.
After the show, Andrew met Lisa and Marge, and was invited to a meeting at a local restaurant. At the meeting, Andrew helped Lisa realize that she ignored all Marge's attempts to bond with her, so Lisa and Marge apologized to each other.
