Another Simpsons Clip Show |
|
It features clips from previous episodes.
- “Mom, romance is dead. It was acquired in a hostile takeover by Hallmark and Disney, homogenized, and sold off piece by piece.”
- ―Lisa Simpson
"Another Simpsons Clip Show" is the third episode of Season 6. This episode (probably accidentally) referenced a non-canon episode (Treehouse of Horror IV) (originally going to be the season six finale in production order as produced in 1994).
Synopsis
After "So It's Come to This: A Simpsons Clip Show", this is the second clip show in the show's history. Under Marge's insistence, the family go over romantic experiences that occurred in a form of clips from previous episodes.
Full Story
Marge is reading The Bridges of Madison County one night and wakes up Homer to ask if he thinks the romance has gone out of their marriage. He grumbles and throws the book into a fireplace which has suddenly appeared in the bedroom. Marge grumbles back and goes back to sleep.
In the morning, Marge gets the family together to discuss romance, but they can only come up with vignettes from their failed relationships (and in the parents' case, near-extramarital paramours) in the form of clips from the following episodes:
However, Homer saves the day when he brings up how he and Marge got together (in clips from Season 2's episode "The Way We Was"). Ultimately, the kids don't care and end up watching Itchy & Scratchy while Homer and Marge share another special moment.
