The Aphrodite Inn is perhaps Springfield's most luxurious hotel, which boasts fifty-seven individually-themed "fantasy suites", such as the "Smokey and the Bandit Suite" and the "Oval Office."
Other suites include the Camelot room, Safari room, Arabian Nights room, The Pharaoh's Chamber, a caveman-themed room and the Utility room.
Celebrity lion tamers Gunter and Ernst as well as Mayor Quimby have stayed at this hotel. In a Simpsons Comic, it was run by Nick Aphrodite, with whom Marge fell in love while staying there from a love potion by Professor Frink.

The Aphordite Inn is based off of real world "love hotels", being lodging establishments where couples can stay overnight and engage in romantic and sexual activities with privacy. Though they are majorly known to exist in Japan, there are such establishments in the United States. According to commentary on "Grampa vs. Sexual Inadequacy", one of the writers had an experience staying in one that was around the Los Angeles area, being a similar one inspiring the Aphrodite Inn.
