- This is the first opening blackboard gag to feature someone other than Bart writing lines on the chalkboard, as Bart has Milhouse write the lines instead due to having a "day off".
Previous Episode References[]
- The events Mayor Quimby reference during the town hall meeting include:
- "Wild Barts Can't Be Broken": Homer drunkenly drives his car through the school in celebration of the Isotopes winning the championship game, however Lenny, Carl and Barney are absent.

- "Judge Me Tender": A couch gag where Homer and Bart strangle each other.
- "Once Upon a Time in Springfield": The episode finishes with a heartfelt note from the writers thanking the viewer for watching the show, followed by a self-depreciating/sarcastic note (on the former episode, some versions either had "Now stay tuned for three Seth MacFarlane cartoons" or "Think what you could have done with your life if you didn't waste it on this show"; on the latter episode, the note was, "Now go outside and get some fresh air before logging on to the Internet to complain about how bad this episode sucked.")
Cultural References[]
- The title is a parody of the 1975 musical romantic comedy film At Long Last Love.
- At the town hall meeting, Otto reveals that his donated hair was worn by Selma Hayek to the Oscars.

Goofs[]
- Cookie Kwan points out that Maggie never cries during the accusations against the Simpsons to why they should be ejected from Springfield but in several episodes including "Marge Be Not Proud" and "Crook and Ladder" Maggie has cried. However, Cookie could simply not be aware of the fact that Maggie has cried before.
- The snow globe couch gag from "Miracle on Evergreen Terrace" is missing from the couch gag montage.
