Audrey Meadows (born Audrey Cotter, February 8, 1922 – February 3, 1996), also known as Audrey Six, was an American actress, banker, and memoirist, best known for her role as Alice Kramden on The Honeymooners. She voiced Beatrice Simmons in "Old Money".


Youthful Meadows

Meadows was born as Audrey Cotter in China, the youngest of four children. She performed on the Broadway show Top Banana, the Bob and Ray Show, Alice on The Jackie Gleason Show, and is most famous for her work on the Honeymooners. She also appeared on films such as Too Close for Comfort, and guest starred on The Red Skeleton Show and the Simpsons. She was diagnosed with lung cancer with a year left to live, and refused treatment.

Personal life

Meadows married Robert Six, then got divorced and married Randolph Rouse. Neither of these marriages resulted in children.
