Aunt Hortense is a deceased aunt of the Simpson family.
Hortense's will has been probated in "Bart the Fink", and the Simpson family are her only heirs, inheriting $100 each, with the rest being left to advice columnist Ann Landers, much to Homer's ire.
Bart see his late Aunt Hortense's spirit in heaven in "Bart Gets Hit by a Car" after he was knocked out when Mr. Burns hit him with his car.
