- The title is a reference to the 1929 stride jazz/early swing song "Ain't Misbehavin'." It was also referenced by the episode title "Eight Misbehavin'."
- Palm Springfield is a parody of Palm Springs, California, a city 107 miles (172 km) from Los Angeles. It presumably first appeared in "Husbands and Knives" as Palm Springfield Resort.
- The font on "Welcome to Palm Springfield" is the same as Palm Springs' old welcome sign.
- Palm Springfield's tagline "Gays Just Want To Have Sun" is a pun on the 1983 pop hit "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper and a reference to Palm Springs being a desert resort with major increase in gay vacationers.
- Grumble is a parody of Bumble.
- El Yogo Loco is a parody of El Pollo Loco.
- Ladies Sport-Ball Network (LSBN, which sounds like "lesbian") is a parody of ESPN.
