The Avatar couch gag is the fifth couch gag of Season 22.
Plot[]
In a spoof of the movie "Avatar", the Simpson family lies down in virtual tanks and they transfer themselves into Na'vi bodies. They frolic and try to tame a "couch-monster" in a canyon. Homer fails, but Bart tames one and flies the family to a mountain with a TV nearby, then turns the TV on by plugging in Homer's ponytail while the rest of the family puts on 3D glasses.
