| ~ Moe[src] |
Baba Branka was Moe's Macedonian grandmother. She makes her first and only appearance in flashback in "Abe League of Their Moe."
She was voiced by Tress MacNeille.
History
Homer tries to order a glass of water, but Moe is taken aback because water killed his grandmother and there is a picture on the wall of Moe's Tavern of Moe's grandmother looking exactly like the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz with "to Moe–What a world!" written on it ("What a world!" being the last words of the Wicked Witch as she melted). ("Homerland")
Moe and Abe Simpson are able to get star baseball player Aeropos Walkov from Macedonia to join the Springfield Isotopes and Moe becomes his translator because he learned Macedonian from his grandmother Baba Branka. ("Abe League of Their Moe")
It is somewhat unclear if Baba Branka is on Moe's paternal Szyslak or maternal side or if she and Moe's Wicked Witch-looking grandmother are meant to be Moe's two different grandmothers or the same grandmother.
Trivia
