Bart's Brain is the eighteenth episode and final episode of Season 35, and the 768th episode overall.

Synopsis[]

Bart buys a brain in a jar from Herman's Military Antique Store, and his attachment to it causes concern for everyone around him.

Plot[]

Homer and Marge arrive and have surprise to Grampa for a gift. However, it's a tiny room but cheap. Bart opens his army crate and asks Grampa for permission to take it. At Herman's Military Antiques, Bart sells his army stuff and Herman gives a hundred dollars store credit to him. Subsequently, Bart finds and wants to buy a jar of brain. At the start of the opening sequence, Bart starts pranking in every scene and scaring them.

Afterwards, Bart takes a jar of brain to school and all students are about to throw up at the cafeteria. At the office, Skinner and Gary Chalmers are wearing clothes from the lost and found, but Willie is not wearing clothes due to Bart's prank. Both are planning a punishment, but Ms. Peyton has an assignment for Bart to take his brain "Every day to school and journal its experience to gain a sense of responsibility", and his homework for two weeks, which Skinner and Chalmers agree on. Bart went miserable days after and then wants to have free time to clear his mind. Lisa checks his journal book, but it's empty and Bart has not written yet. He asks Homer to babysit his jar of brain to go to Milhouse's house to watch reaction to reaction videos. At his house, while Homer babysitting his jar of brain at Moe's bar, Bart and Milhouse are playing the video game and then he'll get back home. When Homer gets home, Bart realizes that it's pickled eggs, not brain. Bart then heads to his bar to check for his jar of brain. Moe told him that he left a jar in the alley for the raccoons. Bart then confronts the three bullies that belong to him that the jar almost blows up with a firecracker. Bart has recovered his jar and returned home to do his homework in his treehouse. After he finishes his homework, Bart brings his brain to Luigi's. However, the rest of the family was taken to the freezing room which lead the food to be cold. Back home, Marge tells Homer about a situation concerning Bart and becoming “The Brain Boy”.

The next day, at school, Ms. Peyton grades their journal book to students and Bart receives an A+. All the students return the egg to Willie. Ms. Peyton calls “Buddy” to a jar, but Bart refuses and runs off from the school resulting Ms. Peyton in tears. At Try-N-Save, everyone is concerned that Bart and calling weirdo, “Brain Boy” while Homer buying the cereals. Back home, Homer tells Marge about it as everyone in the store has called him. Lisa suggested locking Bart to avoid others. Next morning, the family was about to leave Bart behind to go to church, but he woke up and asked why the family didn't wake him up. The family then leave quickly without Bart.

In the church, they shouldn't be a problem, but Bart arrives holding Buddy. Marge screams very loudly at him, causing him to start crying, but makes matters worse and Bart tells everyone to call him “Brain Boy” if they dare and to get a proclaim friendship. However, a label falls off itself from a jar to reveal that the brain belonged to Cobin Everly and was donated to Springfield University in 1975. Lisa searches for Cobin Everly and finds out that he was a local tax accountant before his passing. Bart doesn't want to be the Brain Boy anymore.

Bart takes Buddy and when he finds a skateboard to let them go, his brain departs for Springfield University. When the brain arrives, Professor Frink hands him a jar of brain and Bart then calls him a weirdo. As the closing credits rolled in, Marge took Bart to the Community Center for child support group, but she sees all of them are weird, so she changed to get ice cream instead.
