In Sideshow Bob's flashback Bob was trying to decide on a new place to live, he took a globe, spun it, and stabbed it with a knife, so as to get a random country. After a couple of more unpleasant options, the knife stabs Bartovia, to which Bob says, "Now cut that out."
The geographical features of Bartovia are obviously designed to mimic Bart's facial features. This includes a large lake mimicking Bart's eye, a river mimicking his mouth and a rugged northern coastline mimicking the spikes in his hair.
- After stabbing Bartovia, Bob spins the globe slightly and sees Italy, suggesting that on Bob's globe Bartovia is located near Europe.
- Bartovia is a fictional country.
