This is the last episode to air before the First USA state-wide Lockdowns (inculding California) due to the COVID-19 pandemic which occured two days after this episodes original airdate. It is also the first episode to air after COVID-19 was declared a pandemic.

The sign in front of the landfill, "50,000 Seagulls Can't Be Wrong", is a reference to Elvis Presley's album 50,000 Elvis Fans Can't be Wrong.

Bart was shown to be acting like he didn’t like to go fishing, even though he didn’t mind going fishing as shown in "I Am Furious (Yellow)", and The Simpsons Movie.
