- "I am Clin-ton. As overlord, all will kneel trembling before me and obey my brutal command. End communication."
- ―Bill Clinton
William Jefferson "Bill" Clinton (born William Jefferson Blythe III on August 19, 1946) was the forty-second President of the United States, serving from 1993 to 2001. He has made several appearances in the show, voiced by Dan Castellaneta in Sunday, Cruddy Sunday, Bart Gets an Elephant & Weekend at Burnsie's, Phil Hartman in "Treehouse of Horror VII", and Karl Wiedergott in episodes since Season 10.
Biography[]
Bill Clinton was the third-youngest president and became president at the end of the Cold War, and is known as the first baby boomer president, as he was born in the period after World War II. He is the husband of the junior United States Senator from the state of New York and a Democratic candidate in the 2008 and 2016 US presidential elections, Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Bill Clinton had contact with the Simpsons family and visited Springfield various times. His most notable encounter with the Simpsons was when he answered Lisa Simpson's complaint about a band contest, in which Lisa's band was beaten by the band of another school which used an illegal tactic but still won [2]. He was arrested and imprisoned along with the Simpsons family, the Dixie Chicks and Elmo in Alcatraz Island after Springfield implemented the Government Knows Best Act [3]. At one point, he declared that school was for losers, which made headline news, with Principal Seymour Skinner, already upset at both his being beaten to the punch at discovering a celestial object by Bart Simpson and his accidentally releasing a vandalized weather balloon that he had just retrieved in shock regarding the aforementioned news, being left even more dismayed upon reading the headline.[4]
Some time later during the 2008 Election Primaries in Springfield, he was forced to put up signs supporting his wife Hillary, who was running for president, largely because of his past transgressions [5].
