Edward Teach/Edward Thatch (1680 — November 22, 1718), better known as Blackbeard, was a 16th century pirate.
He was first mentioned in "Bart Gets an "F"" when Bart was thinking about the name of the pirate in Treasure Island for his book report.
He made his first and only on-screen appearance in "Treehouse of Horror IV" during the segment "The Devil and Homer Simpson" as one of the people in the Devil's jury along with Benedict Arnold, Lizzie Borden, Richard Nixon, John Wilkes Booth, John Herbert Dillinger, and the starting lineup of the 1976 Philadelphia Flyers.
His most recent appearance was in The Simpsons: Tapped Out during the Time Traveling Toaster 2017 event as a premium limited time character that costs 100 donuts.
