  • This is the second episode of the season to reference a food chain, the first being "Diary Queen".
  • The McDonald's Moon Man (Mac Tonight) appears several times in the episode.
  • A Big Boy-esque statue of Mr. Burns is seen outside the model for X-Cellent Burger.
  • During the Burger Wars scene, soldiers resembling Mayor McCheese are seen, as well as the Hamburger Helper hands.

  • Marge selling off the X-Cellent Burger stock prior to the chain's national launch is based off of the 2020 congressional insider trading scandal, where several US senators (Kelly Loeffler, David Perdue, Bill Burr, Dianne Feinstein, and Jim Inhofe) were accused of selling off stocks in companies following an insider briefing during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, knowing that some of their stocks would be negatively affected by the pandemic. Sens. Loeffler, Perdue, and John Hoeven also bought stock in companies involved in medical-related fields during that time. All of those Senators were investigated but were cleared of any wrongdoing.
