The Burning Coal couch gag is the fourteenth couch gag of Season 11.
Plot[]
The Simpson family (except for Maggie, who is in Marge's arms) are barefoot and briskly walking across a bed of hot coals yelping in pain. When the family sits on the couch, they prop their feet up, revealing their black and smoldering soles.

- This is one of two couch gags from season 11 to be used once. The other is the one from "Grift of the Magi," where Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie slide down a fireman pole next to the couch, and Homer ends up stuck in the hole, flailing his legs.
