- Ironically, Bart does end up having legitimate standings of an heir to Mr. Burns in terms of blood relation status, as it turns out that The Simpsons are actually distant relatives of the Burns Family.
- Burns' cameras display Homer eating tulips in the bathroom, Moe talking to himself in the mirror, Reverend Lovejoy drinking a bottle of booze in church, Edna Krabappel and Jacques kissing, Chief Wiggum taking a bath with a rubber duck, and Maude Flanders eating ice cream out of the carton.
- At George Lucas's AFI Lifetime Achievement Award ceremony, the clip of the Simpsons watching the THX trailer at the Aztec Theater was shown as an example of Lucas's impact on pop culture. The people at THX loved this clip so much, it was later used as a real THX trailer starting in 1996, and was used in THX's demo discs, and made a surprise appearance before The Simpsons Movie in THX-certified theaters.
- According to "The Simpsons 138th Episode Spectacular," the scene of Mr. Burns locking Homer out of his mansion after Homer tries to get Bart home was originally going to be Homer getting scared off by a robot version of flamboyant fitness guru, Richard Simmons. It was initially rejected because the focus group who saw the scene didn't like it and the writers didn't think it was very funny (also, Richard Simmons was going to voice his robotic self, but turned it down. Dan Castellaneta ended up voicing the robotic Richard Simmons). It wouldn't be until the Simpsons writers showed the deleted scene at an animation convention that the scene got applause and laughs. The reception is also what inspired the Simpsons writers to create the 138th spectacular clip show episode.
Goofs[]
- Bart and Mr. Burns were able to get into the room with cameras despite the only door in the room leading to the one with the actors.
- When Smithers sees that Mr. Burns is drowning, the cloth disappears.
- Bart scornfully fed his piece of meatloaf to Santa's Little Helper, claiming it to be his most hated loaf, but in "One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish, Blue Fish", he didn't mind eating meatloaf. This was Bart being a brat because he wanted to stay with Mr. Burns.
