Behind the Laughter[]
- The movie is a parody of many real-life computer-animated movies.
- The voice of the "Five-of-Diamonds" card is based on that of Jackie Mason.
- The scene of the "Jack-of-Clubs" card getting arrested is a reference to a 1997 incident where Eddie Murphy was pulled over by police for giving a ride to a transgender sex worker.
- The "Jack-of-Diamonds" card is a caricature of Jack Nicholson. His line "You can't handle the twos" is a reference to 1992 film A Few Good Men, where Nicholson's character says the phrase "You can't handle the truth."
