Episodes set in the future

The contents of this article or section are considered to be non-canon and outside of the main continuity of The Simpsons.

A list of episodes that have peeks into alternate futures. Coincidentally, there has been a future-plot episode every five years since 1995, with the exception of "Holidays of Future Passed," which would air six years later. The obvious reason why these episodes are non-canon is because none of the futures are possible to happen because the characters never age, and the future episodes have minor conflicts with each other. "Lisa's Wedding," for example, takes place in 2010 and everyone is 15 years older, but "Boy Meets Curl" has the Simpsons going to the 2010 Winter Olympics in Canada and everyone is still the same age as they were 15 years ago in 1995. Although "Holidays of Future Passed" was supposed to be canon as the series finale and take place in the future, it now isn't because the series got renewed and it still continues on, so now everyone still remains the same age.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This category can only be added to primarily set in the future episodes and should not be used to certain episodes that are part of the canon during an event or when they conclude.
