~ "Diamond Joe" Quimby[src] |

Charlotte, North Carolina is a city in the Southeast United States.
When the city of Springfield had an image problem following Bart Simpson's inadvertent mooning of the U.S. flag, Mayor Quimby pointed out that Charlotte had once been named "Hitler City."
Behind the Laughter[]
Charlotte's name was chosen when incorporated in 1768 for Queen Charlotte of the United Kingdom (born a princess of Mecklenburg-Strelitz), a decision made in hopes to gain favor with King George III which worked and Charlotte was made the seat of Mecklenburg County.[1]
