Behind the Laughter[]
- The small French island of Château d'If is located a mile off France and used to serve as a fortress before becoming a prison, which was closed when the island was demilitarized in 1890.
- The island also appears in Alexandre Dumas' novel The Count of Monte Cristo, which is retold in this episode.
