China (Mandarin: 中国), officially the People's Republic of China (Mandarin: 中华人民共和国), is a communist country in Asia. The capital city is Beijing. China is popular for its festivals, like Chinese New Year.  

History[]

The Simpson family visited China along with Selma to get her an adopted child, Ling. Homer had to pretend to be Selma's husband, as China only allows married couples to adopt.[2]

China served in the Vietnam War, which is sometimes mentioned in the series.

The Chinese government discourages discussion of the Tiananmen Square Massacre, as evidenced by a plaque in Tiananmen Square that reads "On this site, in 1989, nothing happened."

Radioactive Man was going to go to China and get some takeout when he hears a Sky Tweet from Commissioner Sweeney. He then discovers the Fossil Fuel Four at a Nuclear Plant, who killed him in 4 different stages

China, or rather, the pre-Communist version, was the implied location of the Itchy & Scratchy episode "The Great Brawl Of China".

Trivia[]

  • In "Goo Goo Gai Pan", Taiwan on the map of China in Consulate of China's color is different from China's color, it's green. This is probably talking about the relationship between Taiwan and China.
  • The Simpsons is called 辛普森一家 in Chinese.
  • In "Mr. Lisa's Opus", Lisa holds a sign saying “FREE CHINA FROM TIBET”, suggesting that Tibet may have invaded China.
