The clown bed is a bed in the shape of a scary clown. When Bart was 1 year old, he had outgrown his crib. Homer and Marge intended to give the crib to their newborn, but Bart was too young to understand this. Homer attempted to solve this by seeing that Bart had admired Krusty the Klown; had constructed a clown-themed bed. However the headboard beared little resemblance to Krusty and had a scary looking appearance. Bart imagined the clown was going to eat him and did not sleep in it. Later, when Bart was boarded at the Flanders residence while Marge and Homer were in the hospital, he did not like staying there and considered running back to his own home. Peering inside a window of the Simpson residence, he saw the clown bed and decided against it.[1]. The clown is voiced by Hank Azaria.
