Cuba is an island country located in the Caribbean, about ninety miles south of the U.S. state of Florida . In geographic terms, Cuba is considered to be part of North America. The country's capital is Havana . Its government is entirely of Communism, a political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs. It has a bitter rivalry with the United States of America, due to aligning with the Soviet Union during the Cold War, around the early 1960s.
