Czechoslovakia was a Communist country located in Europe. The country abandoned Communism after massive peaceful protests in 1992 and officially dissolved as a nation the following year.
- Czechoslovakia split up into two smaller countries; the Czech Republic and Slovakia on 1 January 1993. Both nations joined the European Union on 1 May 2004 and Slovakia adopted the Euro single currency (€) on 1 January 2009. The Czech Republic still uses the koruna (CZK) to the present day.
