Daisy Quimby is the rarely seen matriarch of the prominent Quimby family of Springfield.[1]
History[]
She, her son Joe and other family members attended the wedding of her granddaughter Maria Quimby to her ex-husband Rainier Wolfcastle.[2]
Non-Canon[]

Deleted scene from "The Boy Who Knew Too Much"
Bart cuts class and he sneaks into Freddy Quimby's birthday party at the Quimby Compound where Bart tells Mayor Quimby he is his nephew Bart-Bart (a reference to John-John being a nickname for John F. Kennedy, Jr.) and then in a deleted scene Mayor Quimby introduces Bart to a woman saying, "She's probably your grandmother or something."[3] Daisy is described in the script as "The 103-year-old MATRIARCH of the Quimby clan rides up in a Capt. Pike style contraption à la "Star Trek". She only communicates through flashing lights and beeps made by her machine.
Behind the Laughter[]
The Quimbys are a parody of the Kennedys with Daisy Quimby based on Rose Kennedy, the family matriarch who died on January 22, 1995 at age 104. In The Simpsons: A Complete Guide to Our Favorite Family, she is referred to as "Daisy, the never-seen Quimby matriarch" in the "Benefactor" section of Freddy Quimby's fact file.
In The Simpsons: Tapped Out she was named Rose Quimby (her inspiration being Rose Kennedy and also Rose and Daisy are both flowers).
