Dave is a research scientist at the National Fatherhood Institute. He is very passionate about the subject of fatherhood, even cancelling a meeting so that he can talk to Homer Simpson about the problems with his parenting. He worked alongside his own son Dave Jr. and is clearly very close to his son. Dave gave Homer the advice of spending more time with Bart, as well as providing him a copy of Fatherhood by Bill Cosby.
