Dexter Scoey was a character from the McBain series. He is shown to be McBain's sidekick.
With his daughter about to graduate from college, Scoey plans retirement. When announcing his retirement to McBain, Scoey tells him of his plans to sail the world with his wife in a boat they purchased called the "The Live-4-Ever." He then presents a picture of his wife and the boat.
Moments later, one of Senator Mendoza's goons posing as a waiter attempts to kill McBain, but Scoey takes the bullets after leaning over to glance at the picture and is also shot at multiple times when he moves away from McBain.
Before he dies, Scoey tells McBain "Get Mendoza." Because of this, McBain swears revenge on Mendoza.
