Cultural References[]
- The title is a reference to the multinational fast food restaurant Dairy Queen.
- In the ending slideshow, Edna was seen watching the Bob Newhart Show, which Marcia Wallace herself has starred on.
- In bed, Lisa is reading Are You There, Buddha? It's Me, Tenzing. A reference to Judy Blume's book, Are You There God? It's Me Margaret.
Trivia[]
- This episode is dedicated to Marcia Wallace, the voice of Edna Krabappel.
- This is the last episode to have Harry Shearer voicing Dr. Hibbert.
- The title screen gag is a reference to the episode "The Musk Who Fell to Earth", where Squawky got killed due to Elon Musk's rocket in the beginning of that episode.
- This episode was originally going to air on 2/14/2021, but it was pushed to 2/21/2021 in the U.S. due to crashes and inclement weather at the Daytona 500.
- The priest being arrested was a reference to the widespread rape of children by Catholic priests and cardinals.
- Fit-Fat Tony has Johnny Tightlips as his loyal capo again, even after the latter betrayed him by framing him for pickpocketing wallets back in "The Fat Blue Line" last season. (It was even unknown on how Johnny was reaccepted by Fit-Fat Tony and the mafia again after those events) Johnny would soon almost betray Fit-Fat Tony again in the next season's episode in the form of the Season 33 episode, "A Made Maggie".
- Also, Fit-Fat Tony revealed to Legs, Louie, and Johnny that the mafia never kills nosy children unless they are 18 years old or over. Contradictory to this, his cousin, Fat Tony, had tried to kill Bart and threaten him with death in previous episodes. (A good example of this is in "Trilogy of Error") Also contradictory to this, Fit-Fat Tony even threatened to kill Bart twice before. ("What to Expect When Bart's Expecting" and "22 For 30")
- It is revealed that Bart has a nicer and cute persona.
- In the ending slideshow, there were numerous slides from the diary including:
- A chalkboard gag
- Edna adoring her cat
- Edna watching The Bob Newhart Show
- Edna watching a TV in the class
- Edna untangling Ralph from a swing set
- The famous scene from "Bart the Lover" with Bart peeking into the restaurant window redrawn
- Ned and Edna snuggling (With their legs and butts forming a misshapen heart)
- The same scene with the cat
- Edna and Ned fixing the Geo Metro
- The chalkboard gag from "Four Regrettings and a Funeral" (With Bart sadly staring at "WE'LL REALLY MISS YOU MRS. K.")
Continuity[]
- Bart's art teacher Evelyn Trunch from "What to Expect When Bart's Expecting" appears at the Elementary School. She seems much crankier after her pregnancy.
- Edna's lines were recorded from the episodes "The Seemingly Never-Ending Story" and "Bart Gets a "Z"".
Goofs[]
- One of the students putting up the Spelling Bee sign magically appears as Bart and Lisa enter the auditorium.
