The Discount Lion Safari is a zoo-like tourist attraction in Springfield. Housing retired circus lions and former mascots of the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios, it specializes in getting tourists in, getting a big cat before them, and getting tourists out. Initially, the safari also used out-of-work actors in cheap costumes from the movie The Wizard of Oz, but the Cowardly Lion Scandal of 1993 put an end to that practice.
