Do PizzaBots Dream of Electric Guitars? |
|
Cultural References[]
- The title of this episode is a reference to the 1968 dystopian novel “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” by author Philip K. Dick.
- Comic Book Guy mentions the redesign of the Sonic the Hedgehog character in the film of the same name, along with the side-by-side comparisons of before and after.
- The pizza place is a parody of Chuck E Cheese's and the Five Nights At Freddy's animatronic band, as they both serve pizza & have robot animals singing & dancing.
- Homer is now depicted to have been a child during the 1990s, which essentially retcons the first dozen seasons of the series which were produced and take place in this decade, as well as episodes like "Mother Simpson" which depict him as a child in the 1960s, and "That '90s Show" (another episode that is infamous for resetting continuity) which depict him as a young adult in this decade.
- One of the children in Homer's youth is ironically wearing a Bart Simpson shirt, although Bart was no longer born in this decade. This is likely a reference to the real-life 1990s where Bart was the center of many Simpsons-themed memorabilia.
