Dr. Dorothea Chaplet is a child therapist at Aubrey Medical Plaza.
History[]
When Mr. Burns intervenes and destroys the only live plant that grew in Springfield, Lisa becomes depressed. Homer and Marge discussed Lisa's feelings of sadness. Dr. Chaplet, overhearing the conversation, approached them. She expressed her desire to assist Lisa, stating that she was a child therapist specializing in ecological melancholy. Subsequently, Homer and Marge take Lisa to her therapy session at Aubrey Medical Plaza.
When Lisa complained about the lack of an ecosystem in Springfield, Dr. Chaplet decided to use EMDR stimulators, providing her with two tappers that gently pulsed, aiding the brain in processing negative thoughts. Lisa was doubtful about the tappers' ability to work, but then dreamed that she went back in time to the 1920s and met a younger Mr. Burns, also known as "Monty B" at the time. When Lisa returns to the present day, Dr. Chaplet suggests that she take the tappers home and document the events in her dream diary. Homer goes back to the room to complain about the parking fee and to demand that Dr. Chaplet pays him back.
Behind the Laughter[]
Dorothea Chaplet is named after and designed based on Dorothea "Dodo" Chaplet from the 1960s Doctor Who series.[1]
