Eartha Kitt (January 17, 1927 – December 25, 2008) was a stand-up comedienne, actress, singer, voice artist, and comedienne.

Before her death, Kitt recorded a role for The Simpsons as herself where she complained about being married to Krusty the Clown. That recording was used almost a year after her death in "Once Upon a Time in Springfield," counting as a posthumous role.

In addition to The Simpsons, her most notable voice role was Yzma in The Emperor's New Groove.

Kitt's trademark was her cat purr.
