Ed McMahon was an American TV host, announcer and comedian.
History
When Lisa got a telescope, she read Ed McMahon's Star Searcher, a book by him, and found out that Venus would be visible at 27 degrees at 6:22 p.m.
During Krusty's service in Congress, Homer worked for him. He once mentioned that he studied under Ed McMahon.
Non-canon
In Homer's nightmare, Bart and Lisa were watching The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and Ed McMahon. Marge then said that Homer had been missing for two days.
Ed McMahon also hosted the FOX television show World's Deadliest Executions. In the episode, Snake Jailbird was executed in the electric chair on live TV. Ed McMahon introduced Snaky by saying "Heeeeere's Snake!" and called out "Hi-yooooo!" when Snake was dead.
