How the Test Was Won - Marge kissing Lindsey The contents of this article or section are considered to be non-canon and outside of the main continuity of The Simpsons.

Edith, the great-grandmother of Lisa, Bart, and Maggie, was a jazz musician. She makes her first and only appearance during Lisa's dream back in time with the tappers in "The Past and the Furious".

Like her present day, she was voiced by Yeardley Smith.

History[]

When Lisa utilized the tappers provided by Dr. Chaplet, she dreamed and traveled back to the 1920s, inhabiting Edith's body. Edith was at the Little Moose Club, where a saxophonist lost consciousness after consuming sugar due to an allergy. The band leader, mistakenly calling her Edith, inquired if Lisa would like to join, assuming that she also played the saxophone. Lisa has agreed to perform on stage, playing the saxophone. During the performance, Monty B unexpectedly joined in to sing, which surprised Lisa. After the performance, Lisa discusses with Monty B regarding Springfield Mini Moose population outside the club. Then, he and Lisa inscribe their names in the fresh cement outside the club.

Outside Moe's Tavern, Lisa realized that she had traveled back in time upon noticing the identical markings she and Monty had made in the dream. When she mentioned Homer and Marge, they dismissed it as Lisa dreaming about her great-grandmother Edith after seeing her photograph. Lisa refused to accept this and approached Professor Frink to discuss the matter. Together, they concluded that they needed to save Springfield Mini Moose from extinction. Lisa utilized the tappers to assume control of Edith's body once again, where she proceeded to the greenhouse to consult Monty regarding the rescue of the moose. Monty consented to assist her by performing "The Mini Moose" song at the Little Moose Club, with Lisa as Edith, and persuaded the townspeople to save the Mini Moose.

Lisa awoke in the present day, having successfully saved the Mini Moose. However, this did not alter the fact that they had become extinct two years earlier than anticipated. After Bart took it from Marge, Lisa utilized tappers to return to the past in an attempt to rectify the situation. Unfortunately, she inadvertently shouted through a megaphone, which incited the Mini Moose to go on a rampage in Monty's Spilotantha Daphne orchid greenhouse, resulting in the destruction of all the flowers. As a result, Monty, enraged by the incident, decided to kill all the moose as revenge. Returning to the present day, Lisa decided to visit the nuclear power plant to inform Mr. Burns of what she knew.

She then used the tappers once again to convince Monty to reconsider his decision to become evil. However, in the present day, Mr. Burns takes the tappers from her to exert control over his younger self. While Lisa was attempting to persuade Monty to abandon his wicked ways, Homer roused her from her sleep in the present day.

Lisa discovered that Monty had left a note in the cement outside Moe's Tavern, indicating he had hidden something for Edith in the Little Moose Club's basement. There, she found a broken lamp meant to fund a park, along with Spilotantha Daphne orchid seeds. The lamp was wrapped in valuable baseball cards. When Lisa reopened the park, she filled it with flowers.
