Edward the Penitent is a television show which Troy McClure advertises during a telethon. It takes place in what seems to be a medieval setting and revolves around a man, presumably the titular Edward, seeking forgiveness from an unidentified Pope while kneeling, saying “I’m really, really sorry”. The Pope replies, "I’m afraid sorry doesn't cut it with this Pope.", to which the man nervously tugs at his collar.
