Cultural References[]
- The episode title is a pun on the children's counting game, "Eeny, meeny, miny, moe," that Homer used in "Homer Defined", when the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant was in meltdown mode.
- Kearney's son banging the three bottles together on his fingers is a reference to the 1979 film The Warriors, although the rhythm is different.
- A variation on a theme from one of Philip Glass's scores is heard during the commercial about the nanny-monitoring device.
- Moe jokes about people that live in trees, particularly Tarzan and the Berenstain Bears.
- Upon learning that Maya finds him attractive, Moe joyfully utters the nonsense phrase, "Oh, frabjulous day, calloo callay!" which is a reference to a similar line in the Lewis Carroll poem "Jabberwocky."
- Moe has a copy of Little Women, a book he previously was shown reading in "Homer Loves Flanders".
- When Moe turns on the television in Maya's house, it is showing a scene from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory featuring Oompa-Loompas.
Trivia[]
- When Moe sees Dr. Nick to have size-change surgery, Nick is about to give him the anesthetic and tells him that when he wakes up, he will be a woman. Moe, taken aback, sits up and says that is not what he came in for. At this, Nick apologizes and says he must have gotten his files mixed up. An indignant and newly short Mr. Largo then appears in the doorway, complaining to Dr. Nick—implying that Largo was the one wanting a sex-change operation.
- Crazy Cat Lady is shown to be lucid enough to talk (or even use a computer).
- This is the second episode where Homer brings Maggie to Moe's Tavern. The first was "Bart Sells His Soul".
- Moe Mentions that he changed his name to Moe rather than buy a new sign for the bar.
- Moe once again mentions being a snake handler, which was first mentioned in "Homer the Heretic".
Goofs[]
- Maya said that Moe stopped being funny ten jokes ago, yet he only did four jokes. There were probably six jokes about Maya's height that weren't allowed to air due to being too offensive.
- Lenny and Carl switch voices when they call Maggie.
