Synopsis[]

When Bart & Lisa stop watching Itchy & Scratchy together, Marge fears that they'll start to drift apart... but she has no idea how bad things are about to get!

Plot[]

Four years ago, Marge prepared to go to the market and instructed Homer to look after the children, specifically advising him not to place them in front of the television, consume Twinkies and take a nap. Homer behaves in a completely contrary manner, while Bart and Lisa begin switching channels until they come across the Krusty the Clown Show and episode The Itchy & Scratchy titled "Open Sesame Street," which is a parody of Sesame Street. They thoroughly enjoyed it and plan to watch it every day indefinitely before sharing a Twinkie. Continuing to observe up to the present, Marge demonstrates to them that they have also begun producing clothing and merchandise for babies, like toys, rattles, diapers, cribs, books, baby monitors, diaper changing items, pacifiers, and potties.

They are heading to school to tell the kids that they created Itchy & Scratchy for babies, which leads to the kids using their riot of anger to destroy their clothes and merchandise, like posters, globes, caps, flags, underwear, shoes, socks, pencils, lunchboxes, shirts, and more into a bonfire. At home, Marge surprisingly finds that they are not in front of the TV to watch the show. Lisa has begun watching a new show called Quirk Girl, while Bart watches Screaming Friends, as they have transitioned away from watching Itchy & Scratchy. While Marge is disposing of Bart's toys outside, Itchy and Scratchy come to life, witnessing the subsequent events and showing concern about them. They recall the moments Bart and Lisa shared, watching until circumstances led them to drift apart.

Behind the Laughter[]

Matt Selman has issued a statement regarding Marge's death after sparked online outrage and said, "there is no canon" he told Variety, "The Simpsons' doesn't even have canon!" Selman added "Marge will probably never be dead ever again. The only place Marge is dead is in one future episode that aired six weeks ago." He noted that numerous media outlets ran with the "misleading" story suggesting that The Simpsons' matriarch would be killed off as the series progressed.[1]
