Eunice Bouvier is Marge Simpson's half-grandaunt. She lives in Gainesville, Florida and is in a walking cane with wheels.
Appearance[]
Eunice Bouvier appears as an elderly woman, with hair sagging to her side, similarly to Jacqueline Bouvier but longer and more gray, however her voice sounds like an older version of Patty and Selma. She has wrinkles around her neck and forehead, and has curled lips that drape over her mouth. In the episode I'm Dancing As Fat As I Can, She is seen with a walker and wears a purple nightgown with a light purple collar and cuffs, However in Lisa Gets the Blues, She appears to have a pink dress with flowers on it, and bound to a wheelchair. Both appearances though, have depicted her with wearing the typical old lady style glasses, with the frames curving upwards.
Personality[]
Since Eunice has only physically appeared in two episodes, not much is known about her personality, however she seems to be quite a strong woman who does not like to be taken advantaged of and can put up a fight, as she is seen grabbing a lamp, smashing it, and aiming it towards Patty and Selma.
History[]
In the episode "Lisa Gets the Blues", Marge mentions that Eunice is turning 100 years old, and that she would love to hear Lisa play the saxophone. The Simpson family was supposed to go to Gainesville to see Eunice on her birthday, but Homer gets the plane gets rerouted to New Orleans, and Eunice is alone on her birthday as a result, and she is seen saying "Happy Birthday to me..."
In the episode "I'm Dancing As Fat As I Can", Marge gets a call in the middle of the night about Eunice dying and Marge, Patty, and Selma go to visit her. However when Eunice thought she was following the light, she discovered that Patty and Selma had already claimed all of her belongings with sticky notes and proceeded to smash a lamp and threaten them with it.
Trivia[]
- Similarly to Marge and most of her female relatives, Eunice Bouvier is voiced by Julie Kavner
- Although not blood-related to Jacqueline Bouvier, Eunice has a similar physical appearance to her.
- She appears to have a good relationship with Marge and her sisters, as Marge is visibly upset when she gets the call that Eunice was dying, and the fact that only Marge, Patty, and Selma were the only three who showed up when she was on her supposed deathbed.
- She has her father's last name, Bouvier, meaning she most likely never married, or was divorced and took her maiden name back. This would make sense as no known children were seen at her house for her birthday or when she was supposedly dying.
- She has lived the longest out of all the known Bouvier family, which is probably inherited by her mother since she only shares a father with her half-brother Pépé; either that, or she never smoked, which most of the Bouvier family does/did.
- According to Marge, Eunice loves music
- Much like how Jacqueline Bouvier was named after John F Kennedys wife Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Eunice's name could very likely be a nod to John F Kennedys sister Eunice Kennedy Shriver.
